| Aims of Joint Research Themes |
-
To create a "shared foundation for the development of human resources" to support cutting-edge research and development into SoC technologies
-
To promote the bilateral exchange of people, information and outcomes between industry and academia
- STARC is presently involved in joint activities with a number of universities on approximately 50 different research themes. These joint research activities are helping to reinforce and expand the research base for semiconductor-related technologies at these universities and therefore contribute to the development of a large number of semiconductor specialists. In addition, by providing quick access to research results STARC is promoting the transfer of advanced technologies to client companies for early application in the commercial market.
|
| Areas of Joint Research Themes |
- Joint research themes are selected from pre-competitive technical fields that are targeted for practical application in 5-10years, shared key technologies that should be tackled by the industry as a whole, or from research and development linked to the further training of young university researchers.

|
| Scheme of Joint Research |
- Researchers from client companies apply to participate in joint research conducted at STARC. These researchers help
devise research plans as well as support research activities. This helps deepen mutual exchange and understanding between universities and private corporations, and gives students a better insight into the research and development perspectives of industry.
