STARC opn execution environment was demonstrated at EDS Fair 2002 for design rule markup language 2002.1.28
In the EDS Fair 2002 (1.24-25, 2002 @ PACIFICO YOKOHAMA), the STARC open execution environment of design rule description language "SoDRML" was demonstrated, and the necessity and validity were shown. "SoDRML" (STARC open DRML) has decided upon describing the 130nm STARC recommendation design rule, which STARC proposed year before last, using the design rule description language (DRML:Design Rule Markup Language). It has described the 2-dimensional design size, electric parameters and process parameters of the design rule manual. Preparing the execution environment equipped with GUI (Graphical User Interface) and API (Application Program Interface), electronic design information described by DRML can be displayed in spreadsheet form as seeing the design manual usually, can be searched a required design rule, and can be generated rule files for layout verification and layout extraction tool automatically. The prototype of 130nm SoDRML and its execution environment is completed by March of this year (2002), and realize to construct efficient design environment and unify management of design information. We will develop the API and Schema language (language for syntax check of DRML), and also accomplish the description of 100nm design rule of STARC recommendation by end of this year.
